Usability testing
Usability refers to the ease with which an end-user can interact with a product, system, or service to achieve their goals efficiently, effectively, and satisfactorily
Usability testing is a critical component of user experience (UX) design, ensuring that products are intuitive and user-friendly
High usability is characterized by simplicity, clarity, and a seamless user experience that minimizes errors and maximizes user satisfaction.
What is a usability test?
Usability tests are about watching people actually try to use what you’re building, so you can detect and fix the parts that confuse or frustrate them.
It’s a very straightforward technique and anyone can perform a basic usability test with no prior knowledge of design or usability.
It’s simplicity is deceptive – it’s incredibly powerful.
To get started with a basic usability test, follow the process set out by Steve Krug in his book: “Don’t make me think“.
After meeting exact user needs comes simplicity and elegance that produce products that are a joy to own, a joy to use.
